In his book, Eye To Eye: How People Interact, Dr. Peter Marsh reports that "A study of American university dormitories shows how personalization of students' space is related to their sense of belonging to the university as a whole." Here are some of the findings he describes. It is ( ) how many students who live in cities that are ( ) to campus, or even within a 50-mile ( ) , prefer to go home on weekends. Some of them have even left most of their personal ( ) at home and ( ) personalizing their rooms at all. And there doesn't seem to be much difference between ( ) ; both male and female students have the same behavior. Because they are away from campus, these students are not able to ( ) campus groups on weekends. Many feel more socially isolated than students who stay at school on weekends. When asked why they have difficulty feeling like their campus is their home, responses ranged from "I feel like my roommate ( ) my space," to "My parents have ( ) me the belief that there is no place like home." These results come from interviews with resident students on a big-city campus. It would be interesting to find out whether students on a ( ) campus have the same attitudes.
