In 1962, John Glenn, at the age of (11) , took a history- ride (12) Friendship 7 to become the first man to orbit (绕轨道运行) the earth and to walk in space. He did it for science and for his country. Then in 1999, at the age of sy-seven, Glenn made history again to take the flight back into space.
